Noise Synaesthetics
Your Brain As Roadkill

Ever seen a noise? Averagely gifted people take shrooms – or they see-listen to Twixt, the audio-visual performance project of Viennese filmmakers and experimental musicians Billy Roisz and Dieter Kovačič. For example, a road movie: Notions of passing trees behind digital fog – the street: is the noise, the gray flicker: is the noise. The short circuit clicks beneath consciousness into the brain mechanics. Sound snippets and scraps of images stimulate deposited sediments of cinematic rhetoric from horror to western. Diagnosis of the experiment: we synesthetise.
