Let’s not beat about the bush – footwork from Chicago is (after the unspeakable 90’s gabber from the Netherlands) the most abstruse electronic dance music ever created. And who invented it? RP Boo. At least he gave the first formative tracks to the breakneck dance style of the same name and brought the whole thing to the clubs outside of the USA. Footwork is a creation based on the fusion of Juke and Ghetto House, and a refreshing counterpart to European-influenced bass music – meagre, lo-fi, tingling and bumpy.
