The Swedish Kajsa Blom developed a political consciousness early in her youth and then shouted her views into a microphone in a punk band. Political and emotional are both terms that are associated with punk, but not necessarily with electronic music. In her work as a DJ and producer, the values of Kajsa Blom’s youth have remained important, even gained in significance. She wants her music to trigger not only the movement of the body but also movement in the head and heart. She’d rather listen to something absolutely horrible than something meaningless, she says.
