Anna Meredith was a composer-in–residency for the Scottish symphony orchestra and she composed a song for the national youth orchestra with its 165 members in which each musician used their own body as an instrument. Another of her orchestral compositions was aired as part of “BBC Proms” to around 40 million viewers. And then last year her album “Varmints” came out, an array of pumping beats with bombastically delicious electronica-pop-tracks. Live she will direct an ensemble, play clarinet and sing for us. We are excited!
